Success in Ostrava

Our litigation team has helped the Statutory City of Ostrava to successfully reverse the claim of compensation for damages consisting of alleged frustration of the construction of a shopping centre in excess of 1.5 billion CZK. The Regional Court in Ostrava, as a court of appeal, dismissed the action against our client on 26 October 2017 in its entirety. Although the long- standing and closely monitored dispute will be terminated with final and binding effect, it could not exclude that the plaintiff will seek review in the proceedings before the Supreme Court, however the inhabitants of Ostrava can sleep more quietly now.
