Adrian Achimescu graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest and acquired an LLM degree in Business Law and a University Diploma in Insurance Law from the Business Law Center, Faculty of Law in Montpellier, France, following a French Government Scholarship. He fluently speaks Romanian, French and English.

Adrian is a qualified lawyer in Bucharest, Romania and a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2007. During his career, Adrian has always worked in an international environment and has assisted many Romanian and foreign clients on various corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions as well as the set-up of business presence in Romania. Also, he assisted on many financing projects by advising either corporate clients or banks in relation to financing agreements and security packages.

Adrian’s relevant expertise includes advising a large EU private equity fund in relation to the acquisition of a Romanian producer and distributor of drinking water; advising a major international bank with respect to the EUR 60 million financing of an infrastructure project in Romania and preparation of a complex security package; assistance and representation of a European company specialized in water infrastructure projects in an arbitration procedure in front of ICC against a Romanian public institution.

Adrian has significant expertise in Energy projects, especially Renewable Energy projects, and has provided legal advice and assistance to several international companies developing, financing, acquiring or administrating energy projects in Romania (Photovoltaic Power Plants, Hydro Power Plants, Wind Farms). Adrian also has good knowledge of Insurance law and European law.

Outside the office, Adrian is a passionate motorbike rider, off-road bicycle rider, swimmer and tennis player. He also enjoys reading old and new international literature.
