Abolishment of the retention period
As of July 1, 2019, the employers will be required to pay wage compensation from the first day of illness to their employees in the amount of 60 % of the employee’s average earnings. As a consequence of the Senate being outvoted by the Chamber of Deputies on January 22, the so-called retention period will be abolished. The adopted amendment shall now be submitted to the president to be signed and subsequently published in the Collection of Laws.
